Zohra Hussaini is a nationally recognized advanced practice clinician and leader with 15+ years of experience in pain management at a tertiary academic medical center.
Her work spans clinical care, leadership, national and international society education and curriculum development, research and consulting with industry partners. She has onboarded and trained APPs, developed and directed some of the first APP educational courses, authored texts and developed guidelines that have helped shape the conversation around advanced practice roles in interventional pain medicine.

How It Started
When I began my career as a Nurse Practitioner, the reality was something many APPs still experience today.
Like many early-career APPs, I learned largely through experience, sometimes the hard way.
The difference-maker for me was strong physician mentorship, support and a personal passion to excel. With guidance from experienced physicians who believed in developing APPs as clinical partners, I was able to grow beyond the limitations of the system around me.
Over time, that growth and my passion to educate opened opportunities that led me to become the expert I am today. Now, I want to give back and provide others the same opportunities to grow.
